IISD at COP 26
It had been two years since the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held a Conference of the Parties, and COP 26 in Glasgow proved to be an event like no other.
The 2021 UN Climate Change Conference
Negotiators clinch deal in Glasgow, eye the road ahead
COP 26 has now wrapped up at the Scottish Event Campus, bringing to a close the first UN climate conference since before the ongoing pandemic.
As our colleagues at Earth Negotiations Bulletin reported, the final days of the talks saw negotiators haggle over several issues, from climate finance to adaptation to whether and how to refer to fossil fuels in the final text. Highlights and images from the closing hours of the conference are now online, and a full summary report and analysis from the ENB team is live on their site.
IISD was actively involved in the COP process and will dedicate its subsequent efforts towards the crucial work that lies ahead now that negotiators have returned home.
Thank you for staying with us through this journey! And if you have any questions, please let us know: media@iisd.org.
