Robert (“Bob”) Walker is Sustainability Policy Advisor at the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). Led by investors responsible for assets under management of US 59 trillion, and bringing together companies and stakeholders, ICGN advances the highest standards of corporate governance and investor stewardship worldwide in pursuit of long-term value creation, contributing to healthy and sustainable economies, society, and environment.
Bob has 30 years of experience in the sustainable investing field helping lead the development of the industry in Canada and internationally. He formerly served as Executive Director of the Responsible Investment Association and Vice-President, Head of ESG Services at NEI Investments, a leading Canadian asset manger focused on sustainable investing. He is a Climate Governance Expert for the Canadian Climate Law Initiative established by the University of British Columbia and York University in partnership with Oxford University.
Bob is the recipient of a 2021 Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award. He also serves on the board of Vajrakila Innovations, a Finnish app-development company advancing smart earth technologies and citizen science in support of the environment. Bob is owner of Le Chardonnier, a vineyard located in the Mâconnais wine region of France, and is working with local partners to adopt organic and biodynamic wine-growing practices.
